Nyanyian Yusuf Islam ini kemudiannya dikatakan dijadikan sebagai lagu kebangsaan Afghanistan apabila Taleban memerintah. Taleban yang telah mengharamkan muzik memilih lagu ini mungkin kerana tiada sebarang alat muzik yang dimainkan.
